Remember the outrage over the killing of Charlie Kirk? Remember all of Trump’s condemnation of violence and promises to hunt down and punish the killer and the “radical left”? Immediately following the murders of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, Trump attacked the dead man with disparaging comments like these: "He [Rob Reiner] was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump…I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person”. Trump is childishly making these comments because Reiner was critical of him, saying that Trump is “mentally unfit” for office and that Trump is pushing for “full-on autocracy” in America.
Trump similarly disparaged Senator John McCain - known to be critical of Trump - upon his death in 2019, saying he was “never a fan [of McCain]…never will be”.
The hypocrisy of showing empathy toward a slain right-wing activist while casting shade on slain critics is all too clear.
In Trump’s mind, his own fandom is a measure of others’ success and/or standing in the world. This mindset reveals the profound delusion and immaturity of Trump - that his opinion determines a person’s worth in this world.
It doesn’t get any more narcissistic than that, and his attacks on former supporters and sucklings when they even mildly disagree with him, underscore this point.
For all those who still support and suckle at the teats of Donald Trump, don’t be surprised when he doesn’t give a fuck about you…even if you die in battle serving your country, he’ll call you a “loser”.
