Adam is a lifelong outdoors enthusiast who grew up in New England and moved out west in 1992, living and working throughout the Rocky Mountain region over the next 25 years. He got his Bachelor’s degree in 1999 at Colorado State University where he majored in Natural Resources Management and minored in American Indian Studies. He worked seasonally in Alaska from 1994 to 2000, and returned in 2017 to live in Anchorage full time. His professional past includes such sordid roles as mountain guide, ski patroller, avalanche forecaster, and wildland firefighter, while his personal hobbies and side-gigs have long included photography and writing along with a host of adventure and endurance sports.
